In May of 2021, Barbara lost both the feeling and use of her legs due to complications during back surgery. She shares that her life was turned upside down as well as her emotions - it was a rough start. 

Through the help of her Lord, family, and church family, she was able to find the motivation to keep going. She has been at DRIVEN for about a year now and through their program, she is able to start taking steps, rebuild muscle, and feel more confident in her wheelchair. She also lives alone and just recently started driving again with hand controls.

We met Barbara at Area 15, a new art museum in town. She shared that she loves color, so we made sure to pose her in front of the vibrant murals for display. We think posing her with the colors was a great idea as they represent her well. Barbara radiates vibrant energy and has a positive outlook on life. She had a beautiful approach to sharing her story with us and sent us home with uplifted spirits.
